Every Thursday morning at Villa Parke Branch Library, preschoolers are building critical brain pathways while singing songs and listening to stories—and most parents might not realize the profound impact extends far beyond simple entertainment.

The library’s free weekly storytime, held Thursdays at 10 a.m., offers 30- to 40-minute sessions combining stories, songs, crafts, fingerplays and films designed specifically for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers.

The activities support early literacy, language acquisition, socialization and group attention skills—all critical foundations for school readiness.

The Villa Parke program is part of a systemwide commitment, with the library providing over 60 storytimes each month.

The branch is located at 363 E. Villa Street in Pasadena, and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., closed on weekends.

Preschool Storytime will run on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. Villa Parke Branch Library, 363 E. Villa St., Pasadena. For more information, call (626) 744-6510 or visit https://www.cityofpasadena.net/library/calendar/?trumbaEmbed=view%3Devent%26eventid%3D187628573. Ticket prices: Free.
