The tournament runs from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Robinson Turf Field, 1081 North Fair Oaks Avenue, and is open to players ages 12 to 18, according to the City of Pasadena’s event listing. There is no admission charge.
Both the opening rounds at Robinson Park and the championship matches — which the City says will be played inside Pasadena’s Rose Bowl Stadium — keep the tournament within the city. A promotional flyer from the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department lists the Rose Bowl championship date as August 2; the City’s event calendar confirms the July 24 Robinson Park date but does not separately date the Rose Bowl round.
According to the City, the tournament will feature boys’ and girls’ divisions for students in grades 7–9 and 10–12, with up to eight teams in each division. To complete the first round and semifinals in a single day, all games will be 15 minutes long. The Dena United Foundation will provide the referees and field setup, the City said. Teams, rather than individual players, are asked to register.
The tournament is one event in Parks After Dark, the City of Pasadena’s summer recreation program. In a press release issued June 24, the City said the program is marking its 15th season in 2026, running Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from July 9 through August 14 at seven locations across Pasadena.
The season opened with a kickoff festival July 9 at Robinson Park, the same North Fair Oaks Avenue site hosting the soccer tournament.
According to the same press release, this year’s Parks After Dark adds hands-on STEM programming led by scientists and engineers from Caltech at select events — the first time the 15-year-old program has done so. The City has not specified which events will feature the STEM activities. City materials describe Parks After Dark as a program operated in partnership with the Pasadena Police Department as part of a broader violence-prevention effort.
The City said most Parks After Dark activities are free, with registration required only for select programs. Teams can register for the soccer tournament at cityofpasadena.net/reserve. The Robinson Park round places the tournament in northwest Pasadena, while the scheduled Rose Bowl championship would bring young players onto the field of a stadium that is among the Los Angeles–area venues connected to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, giving local youth a title match at one of the city’s best-known landmarks.
