Friends in Deed will stage Cooking for a Cause on Monday, September 29, mobilizing emerging chefs to spotlight local food insecurity and raise critical funds for its Food Pantry. The event is presented in partnership with the incredible Agnes Restaurant and Cheesery in Pasadena and transforms pantry staples into gourmet creations for a charitable culinary competition.

“This vibrant and flavorful evening promises to shed light on the pressing issue of food insecurity in our local community, all while raising crucial funds for Friends in Deed’s Food Pantry,” said Friends in Deed organizers.

Up-and-coming chefs will have one hour to craft inventive dishes using ingredients sourced exclusively from the FID Food Pantry, including surprise “mystery” items. A panel of expert chefs will judge on creativity, taste, and presentation before crowning a champion.

Proceeds from ticket sales support food-pantry operations and outreach services. Registration is open online.
