Under sunny skies and beautiful conditions, Friends In Deed hosted its sixth annual Golfing for Good tournament on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Brookside Golf Club, bringing together 120 golfers for a day of community, camaraderie, and purpose. The event raised more than $135,000 to support Friends In Deed’s vital programs serving individuals experiencing homelessness and vulnerability throughout Pasadena and the greater San Gabriel Valley.
Participants enjoyed a full day of golf on Brookside’s beautiful course, a putting contest, delicious food and refreshments, an opportunity drawing, and a chance to win a car donated by Honda of Pasadena for a hole-in-one. The day concluded with a celebratory dinner, awards ceremony, and heartfelt recognition of the incredible supporters who made the event possible.
“This year’s Golfing for Good felt especially meaningful,” said Rabbi Joshua Levine Grater, Chief Executive Officer of Friends In Deed. “With so many neighbors struggling in the wake of the pause in SNAP benefits and rising costs of living, the outpouring of generosity from our community was truly inspiring. Seeing everyone come together for this cause reminds us that compassion and connection remain our strongest tools in the fight against poverty and homelessness.”
Friends In Deed extends a special thank you to Tournament Chair Pat Wickhem for his leadership, dedication, and hard work in making the event a tremendous success.
Proceeds from Golfing for Good directly support Friends In Deed’s programs, including the Food Pantry, The Women’s Room, Bad Weather Shelter, Street Outreach and Housing, and Eviction Prevention and Rental Assistance, all of which continue to meet the growing needs of vulnerable individuals and families across the region.
