From Third-Grade Gardens To Adult Wellness: USC Alumna Returns To Share Health Wisdom

Co-President of philanthropic group will discuss holistic approach to nutrition that extends ‘beyond the plate’
Published on Sep 30, 2025

When Megan Tancredi planted a backyard garden with her third-grade class in Carpinteria around 2008–2010, she likely never imagined those seeds of curiosity would blossom into a career helping adults optimize their health and age with vitality.

Now a registered dietitian and Co-President of USC Trojan Affiliates, Tancredi will share her expertise on “The Wellness Reset: Simple Nutrition, Supplements and Habits for Women” at the organization’s meeting on Thursday, October 9, at 6 p.m.

Tancredi’s journey from elementary teacher to nutrition specialist reflects her evolving passion for wellness. After earning her bachelor’s degree at California State University Fullerton, she pursued dual master’s degrees in educational psychology and nutrition from USC. She founded Whole Health with Meg, specializing in helping adults improve blood sugar, reduce inflammation, and age with vitality.

Tancredi believes that nutrition extends beyond the plate, incorporating sleep optimization, movement, and stress management. Her clinical experience includes work as a nutritionist at USC Verdugo Hills Hospital from May to July, where she developed individualized meal plans and led nutrition classes.

USC Trojan Affiliates meets five times annually in the San Gabriel Valley, hosting USC professors and distinguished speakers. The organization, which Tancredi co-leads with Cynthia Wiese, awarded approximately six scholarships for 2025–2026. Their formal mission is fostering friendship and cooperation with USC while developing scholarship fundraising projects.

The event takes place at Mijares Restaurant, established in 1920 at 145 Palmetto Drive in Pasadena.
