One of Pasadena’s favorite restaurants is joining forces with more than 100  female-founded restaurants to “connect, collaborate and uplift” during the inaugural RE:Her Festival.

Gale’s Restaurant is partnering with Kate Vourvoulis, Owner of Good Luck Wine Shop, to create exceptional Dinner & Wine Pairings for the Festival, which will be available to order from Gale’s from through January 31.

Women-owned restaurants all over Pasadena and Los Angeles will  offer unique collaborations with other female chefs, thematic menus, as well as one-on-one conversations among female industry leaders, and much more. The food festival will launch on the anniversary of the Women’s March of 2017.

While Gale’s needs no introduction to thousands of loyal customers over the years, this is just a tiny peek of what she will be offering this weekend. Let the drooling begin:

There is Crab and Shrimp Ravioli with Blistered Tomato Arrabiata, Ravioli Stuffed with Crab and Shrimp, and tossed in a Spicy Baby Heirloom Tomato Sauce with Garlic and Parsley and Finished with Chopped Arugula

Perhaps some Manicotti with Local Made Ricotta Cheese, Mushrooms and Spinach. This dish features imported Manicotti Pasta Stuffed with a Savory Mixture of Gioia Ricotta Cheese, Fresh Spinach and Sauteed Mushrooms Blanketed with a San Marzano Tomato Marinara, Mozzarella and Parmesan Cheese

Maybe some Lemon Risotto with Oven Roasted Chicken and green peas? This is Canaroli Rice Sautéed with White Wine, Shallots and Finished with Lemon Essence, Oven Roasted Chicken, Fresh Basil, Asparagus and Green Peas.

And this is one of our particular favorites—Linguine with Mixed Seafood Puttanesca, featuring  imported Linguine Pasta with a Spicy Ragu of Sautéed Large Shrimp, Clams, Mussels, Tomato Essence, Oregano, Castelvetrano Olives and Capers., and finished with Chopped Chives.

The white wine selection for the event is a Marsanne from Amevive, a Santa Barbara winery owned by winemaker Alice Anderson. The red wine is a Pinot Noir from Dunites, a winery in San Luis Obispo. The wines were curated by winemakers Kate and Adam Vourvoulis of Good Luck Wine Shop, an East Pasadena-based business.

As Kate writes, “Good Luck Wine Shop was born of the idea of having a space to share wine with others and showcase the incredible people, community, and values behind the wines.

After 15 years as a sommelier, Adam began making wine in 2016 and the couple built their winery, Vin de California (VDC) in Pasadena, which also houses their wine store.

All of the meals and wines featured this weekend during the festival are also available online.
