Gamble House Closes Summer ‘Friday Nights’ Series Aug. 28 With Rock, Pop and Altadena Wine

The Gamble House will close its 2026 “Friday Nights” summer series on Friday, Aug. 28, with an evening of rock and pop billed as Pasadena Youth Night, wine flights poured by an Altadena shop, and after-hours access to the first floor of the 1908 Greene & Greene landmark, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The finale is the last of eight evenings this summer that the Gamble House Conservancy has used to open the National Historic Landmark to casual visitors on the second and fourth Fridays from May through August — a low-cost way to see the Pasadena house at night without booking a formal tour. “We have really increased our public programming to welcome the public in,” said Sheryl Scott, the Conservancy’s director of communications and operations.

Guests can spread a blanket on the lawn, bring a picnic or buy slices from Triple Beam Pizza’s mobile oven, and step inside the first floor, where docents are stationed in each room. “While people are on site, the first floor of the house is open for touring, and we have docents stationed inside the house to answer people’s questions,” Scott said. Outside alcohol and pets are not permitted, and wine tasters must show identification at check-in. The wine flights are poured by West Altadena Wine + Spirits, a bottle shop in Altadena.

Friday Nights at The Gamble House takes place Friday, Aug. 28, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for non-members and free for members, with a 21-and-older wine tasting at $40 for non-members and $35 for members; children 12 and under are free, and members must sign in for the discounted rate. It is held at 4 Westmoreland Place, Pasadena, with free public parking on Westmoreland Place and along Orange Grove Boulevard. For more, call (626) 793-3334 or visit gamblehouse.org.
