Edward “Ted” Bosley, the James N. Gamble Executive Director and CEO of The Gamble House Conservancy in Pasadena, will be giving an online lecture on “Greene and Greene of Pasadena: Victorian Clients, Arts and Crafts Architects” from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 12.

Architects Charles and Henry Greene had a largely Victorian-era clientele when they began their careers at the end of the 19th century in Pasadena. As the new century dawned and design reform took firm hold, the Greenes attracted sophisticated patrons who found themselves persuaded by the thoughtful and capable brothers to embrace the new Arts and Crafts aesthetic.

There were still comforting associations with the past in the Greenes’ work, however, as well as up-to-the minute innovations. This webinar will tell the story of the particular genius of Greene and Greene, and how they balanced tradition with a view to the future.

The Zoom webinar is free to attend with a reservation. To reserve a spot, visit https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_I7HqkpcMSz2IRffnVhwYig
