Get Excited About the Weekend Again: After Months of Limited Events, The Rose Bowl to Host String of Events

Published on Oct 22, 2020

Since the pandemic started, live events and concerts mostly faded away.

Lucky for you the Rose Bowl Drive-in in Pasadena is finally hosting a string of events to get you excited for the weekend, starting on Friday, Oct. 23 with Marc Rebillet, followed by Thundercat and Hannibal Buress the next day, at the Rose Bowl’s Area H lawn.

“Comedy is coming to the Rose Bowl,” says an announcement by the Rose Bowl on upcoming events from Friday to Wednesday next week, October 28, at the Rose Bowl Drive-in.

Marc Rebillet, known as “Loop Daddy” for his creative, and comedic, improvisations using his loop station, a keyboard, percussion instruments and his voice, used to entertain at crowded bars and clubs across the nation. He still does that on a limited basis, but mostly goes online from his apartment, often performing in his underpants and bathrobe.

Rebillet has released two studio albums, “Marc Rebillet” and “Europe,” and three extended play records, “Loop Daddy,” “Loop Daddy II,” and “Loop Daddy III.”

On Friday, 8:30 p.m., he reunites with the HotBox production crew – live and in person – for the first time on the West Coast. For tickets, visit NightOut.com.

Saturday, October 24, singer-songwriter Thundercat is teaming up with comedian Hannibal Buress, live and in person, at the Rose Bowl Drive-in. In fact, they’re having two shows that night due to popular demand: a matinee show at 3:30 p.m. and a late show at 8 p.m.

Due to popular demand, a second show has been added for Saturday. A matinee show will begin at 4:30 pm and a late show at 8:00 pm. This will be a socially distanced show following COVID-19 guidelines, and masks will be required at all times. For tickets, go to this link.

Stand-up comedians and best friends Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer are bringing their popular podcast, “2 Bears, 1 Cave” to the Rose Bowl Drive-In on Wednesday, October 28,  for a show like you’ve never seen, with stand-up comedy, games, and surprise special guests. This is now “2 Bears, 1 Bowl,” live and in person!
