Ask anybody holding a ticket for Noah Kahan’s Great Divide gig. This is the second of three straight Saturdays the Rose Bowl has booked something big, which means the Arroyo is once again in its annual state of glorious gridlock — and the difference between a good night and a long one is what time you leave the house.
Noah Kahan, the folk-pop songwriter turned small-town New England melancholy into stadium singalongs. Gigi Perez and Annabelle Dinda are billed with him.
Here’s the timeline, and it starts earlier than you’d guess. Parking lots and shuttles both open at 2:30 p.m., which is also when Happy Hour at Brookside kicks off: golf course, drink in hand, nobody merging in front of you. Stadium gates open at 5 p.m. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.
So take the shuttle, get there while the light is still on the San Gabriels, and let a guy from Vermont explain your own feelings to you inside a stadium your city owns.
