“This Is Uncomfortable,” a podcast by nonprofit news organization Marketplace, is coming to Pasadena for a live taping of the show on Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Crawford Family Forum.
Hosted by Reema Khrais, the show is part podcast recording, part live music performance, and part financial confessional.
From 7 to 8 p.m., Khrais will record a live edition of the podcast, featuring stories of the unanticipated ways money affects relationships, shapes, identities and often defines what it means to be an adult. Afterward, she’ll talk music, money, and life with musician Maral, who will also perform live.
There’s also a confession booth – an actual recording booth in the Mohn Broadcast Center – where you can tell your darkest financial secrets. Confession booths (and the bar) open at 6 p.m., so arrive early to grab a drink and start talking. Confessions will be recorded for the podcast.
“This Is Uncomfortable” is produced and distributed by American Public Radio. It can be heard wherever you listen to podcasts.
The event is part of KPCC’s Public Radio Palooza, a year-long celebration of all the ways public radio brings people together, featuring some of the most legendary and innovative creators in the public media landscape.
