Get Your Creative Juices Flowing With This Practical Craft Project

Published on Jan 23, 2021

The Pasadena Public Library wants to help get the creative juices flowing again now that most of us are still taking the stay at home order seriously.

Join the library on Tuesday, January 26, for a free two-hour virtual class that will show participants how to sew corner bookmarks.

Intended for teens and adults ages 13 and up, this virtual class, part of the Library’s “Sew It Begins” series, requires beginner’s sewing knowledge. You’ll follow along with your sewing machine and make your own fabric bookmark that fits onto the corner of a page. Your scrap-busting project can be made with a few small pieces of fabric.

For materials, you’ll need three squares of quilting cotton, 4.5 x 4.5 inches, and two squares of fusible interfacing, 4.5 x 4.5 inches, which can be picked up from the Hastings Ranch Library at 3325 E. Orange Grove Blvd.

You’ll also need to prepare some coordinating sewing machine thread.

To register, visit www.cityofpasadena.net/library/calendar/ and click the January 26, 3 p.m. tab. Fill out the form online and submit. A link to the Zoom event will be sent to your email after registration.
