“Art with Jeanette,” scheduled for October 15 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., invites young artists ages seven to 12 to create Halloween-inspired collages while enjoying spooky music and stories. “Let your imagination go WILD, dreaming up and cutting out shapes and colors for Halloween-inspired collages. All while listening to spooky music and stories!” according to the Pasadena Public Library Communications Team.
The free workshop is part of the library’s fall programming. “The City of Pasadena is excited to announce a lineup of engaging fall and Halloween events throughout October,” the City of Pasadena Office of Communications announced in July.
Registration is required through the library’s online event calendar.
The program will be held at Hastings Branch Library, located at 3325 E. Orange Grove Blvd. The branch, which opened February 17, 1959, was “the eighth and last Pasadena Public Library branch to be founded,” according to library historical archives. Today, it serves seven elementary schools, eight preschools and one high school, with a collection of 53,903 items.
Families needing accessibility accommodations should contact the library in advance. “Providing at least 48 hours advance notice will help ensure availability,” according to the City of Pasadena’s ADA policy.
