Halloween Just Won’t Be As Magical If You Miss ‘Carved’ at Descanso Gardens

Published on Oct 6, 2022

Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge brings back “Carved,” a family-friendly event for all ages where, for three weeks in October, thousands of carved pumpkins will line the Camellia Forest.

Opening on Friday at 6 p.m., this year’s “Carved” will be bigger and better than before, with all kinds of new activities and activations. Along with the pumpkins, the ever-popular pumpkin house, hay maze, and holiday-themed food and beverages will return. Guests can also enjoy glow-in-the-dark face painting and UV “black light” experiences, artists sculpting pumpkins, and a special Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) installation at the Amphitheater.

“Carved” is a rain-or-shine event. Guests are advised to dress appropriately and bring an umbrella if necessary.

Each person, even under the age of 2, requires a timed-entry ticket. Entry times are at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m., and 9 p.m.
