In lieu of the annual Pasadena Loves Young Adult Book Festival, which is again canceled this year duev to the pandemic, Pasadena Public Library is hosting a Pasadena Loves YA: Gigantic Book Giveaway at the Hastings Branch Library from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday.
Hundreds of YA books, new and gently used, are available for all YA book lovers. You can also bring your own YA books to swap, but it’s not a requirement to be at the live event.
“If you’ve ever been to Pasadena Loves YA you know we usually have a big table of giveaway books at the end of the festival. Since we haven’t been able to hold the festival we’ve accumulated a nice collection of YA books that need new homes. So we are inviting you all to come and browse and take home a book, or two, or three,” says a Pasadena Public Library announcement about the event.
This is an outdoor event. Everyone is advised to bring a mask.
Publicists and authors who would like to submit their names for consideration at future YA book festivals may review the guidelines and submission form at www.pasadenateenbookfestival.
All ages are welcome to join Saturday’s book giveaway, although the focus is on Young Adult titles.
