For the second year in a row, Head In The Clouds, a two-day festival whose lineup features acts based in the North American and Asian music industries, is taking place at Brookside Park near the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, on Aug. 20 and 21.

Head in the Clouds is organized by 88rising, a music collective and management company that’s geared towards representing artists from the Asian diaspora.

In 2018, 88rising presented the inaugural Head in the Clouds at the Los Angeles State Historic Park, where the 2019 event was also held.

COVID-19 prevented the 2020 festival from being held. It was planned for Jakarta, Indonesia that March, but instead, 88rising held a free online concert, the “Asia Rising Forever” festival, to raise funds for raising awareness about the growing anti-Asian sentiment in America.

This year, the label, in partnership with GOT7’s Jackson Wang, is likely to bring back K-pop acts Rich Brian, NIKI, Warren Hue, MIilli, BIBI and girl group 2NE1 during Head in the Clouds, reports indicate.

BIBI will be returning for her second festival after Coachella 2022. Soloists Chungha and Jay Park will also be making their debut Head in the Clouds performances mainstage. The lineup also features K-hip hop’s iconic duo Tiger JK and Yoon Mirae, and Eaj.

Korean-American and Korean-Canadian artists such as Audrey Nuna, Dabin, DUMBFOUNDEAD, and Hojean are also performing.

Brookside, located at 1001 Rose Bowl Drive in Pasadena, will open at 2 p.m. on both days, and the show takes place rain or shine. Curfew is set at 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, and 10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21.

Head In The Clouds will be a cashless event, the organizers said. Accepted credit card payments include any US-issued and most internationally-issued magstripe or chip cards bearing a Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB or Union Pay logo. Accepted contactless payments include Apple Pay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Wallet and contactless cards. If you arrive flush with cash, locations for converting cash to a prepaid Visa card will be available.
