The Huntington Library will transform its gardens into spaces for personal reflection and artistic expression when the “Restore + Explore: Reflective Writing and Intuitive Collage” workshop returns on June 8. This therapeutic session blends mindfulness, creative writing, and collage-making to promote mental health and self-care in a natural environment.

“Lee trusts in the magic of miracles and synchronicity and believes that everyone is creative,” states The Huntington’s event description about instructor Kimberly Lee.

“This is exciting ….I’ve been teaming up with Kimberly Lee to lead a twice monthly creative writing and art workshop at The Huntington in Pasadena. It’s a beautiful place,” says co-instructor Victoria Clayton.

The June 8 session, part of a three-workshop series, will take participants to the Shakespeare garden for letter-writing exercises and the kitchen garden for developing personal affirmations. Attendees will create collages that “reflect your inner landscape” as springboards for journaling.

Lee, a Stanford University graduate with certifications in Guided Autobiography and SoulCollage®, and Clayton, who holds a Master’s degree from the Missouri School of Journalism, bring extensive credentials to the workshop. Clayton’s work has appeared in The Guardian and The Atlantic, while Lee has published in various outlets including LA Parent.

The workshop is part of the “Restore + Explore” series designed to enhance well-being through the gardens’ beauty. Other offerings include Tai Chi with Kathy Chyan on Saturdays in June.

Tickets ($40 public, $30 members) must be purchased in advance. Refunds require cancellation at least five days before the event.
