Pasadena’s HEAR Center, a nonprofit community clinic offering hearing and speech services, will host its 45th annual golf tournament on May 4 at Red Hill Country Club in Rancho Cucamonga. Led by Golf Committee Chair Jacob Brennan, who represents Sika Corporation, the golf tournament’s title sponsor, the event raises funds for free hearing and speech screenings across Los Angeles County.

“I’m excited to represent Sika as the title sponsor and serve as the chair of HEAR Center’s golf tournament. I’m appreciative of the continued participation we receive from the corporate and building industry partners who founded this annual fundraising event to support the community clinic 45 years ago,” said Brennan.

The HEAR Center’s annual golf tournament has been the mainstay of the community clinic’s fundraising efforts, raising more than $1,000,000 to date. Founded in 1980 by concrete industry professionals Ruben Aman, Mal Gatherer, and Bill Donald, whose granddaughter with a hearing loss became one of HEAR Center’s early “HEAR Angels,” the tournament has grown to include the Who’s Who of the Southern California construction materials industry and related businesses. Today, more than 35 companies and 140 individuals come together each year to play, network, and impact HEAR Center’s mission.

This year’s theme, “May the Foreth Be With You,” will feature a fun, galaxy-inspired twist to an already memorable event. Besides driving impact on the course, guests will have an opportunity to bid on various silent auction items, a chance to win a spirits and wine bar cart, and a 7-night stay in Kauai, Hawaii.

“I’m grateful to the companies that have supported this event annually. Their contributions make an impact by funding diagnostic hearing tests, community screenings, and speech and language therapy for individuals who otherwise might go without care,” said HEAR Center Executive Director Marisol Perez. “From toddlers just discovering their first words to older adults hoping to stay independent and connected, their support ensures they don’t miss the conversations, laughter, and everyday moments that give life meaning.”

In addition to Sika Corporation, Platinum sponsors include: CalPortland Company, Cemex, Vulcan Materials Company, Mitsubishi Cement Corporation, Robertson, UNACEM North America, National Ready Mix Concrete, and Sully-Miller Contracting Company.

HEAR Center has provided comprehensive, compassionate, and affordable hearing and speech service for people at every stage of life, helping them connect, communicate, and thrive in their communities for more than 70 years.

Dinner tickets are $150 and underwriting opportunities are still available. Companies and individuals wishing to underwrite or attend the dinner program can visit HEARcenter.org/golf-tournament. To learn more about the community clinic, visit HEARcenter.org.
