Help Pasadena City College Students Facing Food Insufficiency at Jersey Mike’s Fundraiser Today

Published on Oct 28, 2020

Enjoying a great meal at either of two Jersey Mike’s Subs shops in Pasadena today can help raise money for the food insufficiency and health of PCC students.

Vivian Chan, current president of the PCC PTSA, Pasadena City College Parent, Teacher & Student Association, said all you have to do is mention “PCC PTSA” when you grab a great submarine sandwich and a portion of your purchase will go to make sure all PCC students are being taken care of, health-wise.

The fundraiser is from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. all day Wednesday.

Chan said the PCC PTSA is one of the oldest such organizations in the United States. It started in 1954.

“So we are really proud of our students, but then again, there are plenty of areas that we could help. One of our focus from the PTSA is food insecurity,” Chan said.

The group partners with the PCC Pantry to help students in need.

You can order online and when you pick up, just let them know that the PCC PTSA sent you, Chan said.

“ I love Jersey Mikes. They got wonderful sandwiches. They are so generous to offer two locations to work with us so we can cover a more landscape area to get more people to support us,” Chan said.

The two participating Jersey Mike’s Subs locations are located at 122 So. Lake Avenue, (626)584-7000, and 3746 E. Foothill Blvd. ( 626 )696-3642.
