The Pasadena Police Department’s annual car show is back live and in-person on Saturday, October 16, at 300 E. Green Street and the Paseo Colorado, after being placed on hold last year due to the pandemic.

Festivities will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., where over one hundred cars – classic and modern – will be on display along with live music, food trucks and vendors, a silent auction and raffle prizes.

Corporal Cristian Allen, Director of the Pasadena Police Activities League (PAL), said some 106 car owners have registered for the event, but they expect more to arrive and register on Saturday.

“A Vanderhall Carmel, some truly old school vehicles like a ’69 AMC AMX 3, and Rusnak Pasadena will be bringing out a few of their luxury cars: a Rolls Royce, a Bentley and a few others,” Allen said as he mentioned some of the more unusual cars that will be on display.

One of the Police Department’s retired detectives is also bringing out a Pasadena PD 1968 Dodge Coronet, Allen said.

A new BearCat armored vehicle will also be on display, along with some of the Department’s police motorcycles, a new Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle, a new Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, the police UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) and their police helicopter.

“There will be food trucks available. We will have Smosh Town Burgers, Ramirez Tacos, Big Nash Ice Cream Truck and of the course all of the restaurants that are within the Paseo,” Allen said. “Mike on the Mic and retired Police Sergeant Glenn Thompson will be emceeing the event with opening remarks from Chief John Perez. We will also have music and raffles.”

Raffle draws will be every hour, with prizes from Macallan Whiskey, Tangles Beauty Salon, Lululemon, Basecamp Pasadena, Chick-Fil-A, Bang and Olufsen, Target, Ruth’s Chris, Houston’s, and Bed Bath and Beyond.

Prizes for the silent auction include a ride-along on board the police helicopter, patrol car ride-alongs, a Macallan Whiskey set valued at $1000, a BBQ Grill from Home Depot, a $750 certificate towards tires and labor at Crown City Tires, and suite tickets to an LA Kings game in November with a combined total value of $700.

Proceeds from this annual event have traditionally supported the Pasadena Police Explorer Post and the Pasadena Police Activities League.
