Local high school students will provide free technology support to seniors at a weekend cafe event in Pasadena.

Pasadena Village is partnering with ATM (Ayuda Técnica para Mayores) for the Free IT Cafe on July 19. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 680 E Colorado Blvd.

ATM is an organization founded by local high school students. The group provides bilingual tech support to seniors in English and Spanish.

Student volunteers offer one-on-one help with laptops, smartphones and smartwatches. They also assist with other devices. The students have skills in computer science and bilingual communication.

The Free IT Cafe welcomes all community members. Organizers will serve free coffee and light refreshments during the two-hour event.

ATM volunteers work to leave a positive impact on the community. They help seniors navigate technology challenges step by step.

The program takes place at the office of Katrina Webb-McNeil, a Compass Plus Realtor who sponsors the event. Her office is located in suite 400 of the Colorado Boulevard building.

Pablo Ortiz-Morales serves as Program Coordinator for Pasadena Village. He can answer questions about the event at pablo@pasadenavillage.org.

The event is open to Mac and PC laptop users. iPhone and Android smartphone owners can also receive assistance.
