HiHo Cheeseburger, known for serving cheeseburgers made exclusively with 100% grass-fed, grass-finished Wagyu beef—will open its newest location on December 16 in the Playhouse Village neighborhood, at 625 E. Colorado Blvd.
The opening follows HiHo’s recent recognition by Chowhound, as the best burger in California, a distinction that underscores the brand’s focus on what it calls a clean, elevated take on the classic roadside cheeseburger.
“We are really excited about bringing a cheeseburger you can trust to Pasadena,” co-founder Matt Levin said. “By trust, we mean trust in the beef being the best, and trust in the quality behind it, because we’re also owners in the farms.” Levin added that Pasadena holds personal significance for him as both his hometown and the birthplace of the cheeseburger.
HiHo’s burgers are made with 100% grass-fed Wagyu sourced exclusively from New Zealand’s First Light Farms, selected for flavor, nutritional benefits and regenerative farming practices. The beef is naturally lower in saturated fat and higher in Omega-3s, vitamins and antioxidants, and is non-GMO, antibiotic-free and raised without mRNA vaccines. Burgers are served on a custom artisanal bun made by a local baker, while fries are hand-cut daily using just potatoes, oil and salt.
“A dedication to quality, transparency and simplicity has set HiHo apart in the crowded Los Angeles burger market,” co-founder Sheeroy Desai said. “That’s because of our unwavering commitment to give guests a cheeseburger that makes you feel as good as it tastes.”
In addition to its signature burgers and fries, the Pasadena menu will feature house-made desserts such as Banana Cream Pie N’ a Go-Cup, from-scratch milkshakes and fried chicken items created in collaboration with James Beard Award-winning Willie Mae’s Scotch House of New Orleans.
The Pasadena outpost evokes a classic L.A. burger stand and is co-located with Cheesesteaks by Matū, which will open soon and also showcases the same grass-fed Wagyu beef.
