In the heart of Los Angeles, an evening of artistry and philanthropy unfolded with grace and grandeur at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites on Saturday, February 24. The annual Hillsides Gala, aptly themed “Artist in Residence – The Gallery,” opened its doors to a gathering of 335 guests, each one stepping into a realm where elegance meets purpose. As the evening commenced at 6:00 p.m., attendees were welcomed with a cocktail reception and a silent auction, setting the stage for a night dedicated to celebrating the transformative power of art and its profound impact on society.
As the clock struck 7:30 p.m., the event transitioned into a sumptuous dinner accompanied by a live auction, further enveloping guests in an atmosphere of generosity and community spirit. The gala, Hillsides’ flagship fundraising event, successfully raised an impressive sum of $560,000. These funds are earmarked to support the entirety of Hillsides’ programs, which are dedicated to improving the lives of children, families, and communities through comprehensive services and advocacy.
This year’s gala theme, celebrated the inner artist within each individual, a unique blend of influences drawn from the vast domains of fashion, architecture, music, and the visual arts. The event was not just a celebration of art in its myriad forms but also an homage to the inner journey of discovery and self-expression that art invokes.
The gala featured a three-course fine dining experience, live music that filled the air with melodies reflective of the evening’s theme, and a heartfelt client testimonial that underscored the difference Hillsides makes in the lives of those it serves. The live and silent auctions were highlights of the evening, with guests eagerly participating, driven by the dual purpose of acquiring unique art pieces and contributing to a noble cause.
The success of the evening was a testament to the community’s commitment to supporting Hillsides in its mission to transform lives through the power of art and advocacy. The funds raised will go a long way in ensuring that Hillsides continues to offer a sanctuary for children and families, providing them with the tools and support needed to heal, grow, and thrive.
The “Artist in Residence – The Gallery” gala stands as a beacon of Hillsides’ enduring commitment to nurturing the potential within every individual and community. Through the generous support of its donors and the tireless efforts of its volunteers and staff, Hillsides continues to champion the cause of those in need, empowering them to discover their inner artist and master their own destinies.
