The Pasadena City College Flea Market runs this Sunday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1570 E. Colorado Blvd. — and the playbook hasn’t changed much since the Clinton administration. Lot 4, the Del Mar parking structure, is the record swap, with more than fifty vinyl sellers stacked top ramp to bottom, big-band pressings to last year’s indie. Bring a phone light for grading dead wax, a want list, and your patience for crate-flipping. Names worth scanning for: John Everett Miner for clean rare LPs, Out of Date Records (recently spotted on TikTok confirming a May 3 setup), and The Wildlands Vintage — formerly Geraldine Vintage — for menswear and womenswear that has actually been sorted by size and era. @bima.as.herself works the garage with mid-century and Peruvian vintage worth a slow look.
The garage hides the small stuff — comics, coins, postcards, jewelry cases, old cameras, watches that probably need service but probably deserve it. The outdoor lots hide the big stuff — rustic furniture, brass candlesticks, copper pots, mid-century lighting, stained glass, and, last year, a carved wooden motorcycle sidecar. Admission is free; parking in Lot 5 off Bonnie runs $2 a car. The residential streets are off-limits, so don’t try it.
Go early, go caffeinated, and bring small bills — the deals get friendlier after noon, and so do the vendors.
