Hollywood Piano is rebooting their Pasadena location during a turbulent year on a number of fronts, and Pasadena piano lovers may be the beneficiaries, thanks to a factory outlet and clearance center Pasadena store conversion.
According to owner Glenn Treibitz, the store signed a lease on a new space in Main Place Mall late in 2019 and then suffered an accident which resulted in leg surgery and not being able to open in Santa Ana.
Then the pandemic hit for the first time and the Main Place Mall they were moving to was closed, indeed the country, was in lockdown, they were unable to open in Santa Ana again.
They did, however, have a warehouse in North Hollywood, which served as their warehouse and distribution center. The 5,000 square facility had been used for piano storage as well as short term rental pianos. With that North Hollywood warehouse lease due to end on August 31, he decided not to renew and to move that warehouse to their current Pasadena building and move the Pasadena store to Santa Ana when it reopens. From a week after Memorial Day onward, the company began holding large-scale sales events at the warehouse to liquidate as much inventory as possible.
Then at the end of July they started a Pasadena Store moving sale trying to make room for everything from North Hollywood. Their Pasadena location has a 2500 square foot warehouse in the back. Everything remaining from North Hollywood was sent there with all new pianos going to their new Santa Ana location which is now open as of November 1.
As Triebitz explained, “Our plan in Pasadena is to have a highly curated selection of some of our most popular new models, as well as a full selection of new Roland digital pianos plus a large selection of used pianos, repossessed pianos, rental returns, scratched and dent pianos.
Given the turbulence over the past year, however, Triebitz still wants his friends and customers to know and understand that Hollywood Piano continues to be an integral supporter of music in the city of Pasadena.
The company remains the official piano provider to the Pasadena Symphony., the Pasadena Pops, as well as the California Philharmonic.
“We provide pianos when they’re needed, from the Pasadena Playhouse to many organizations, clubs, events, all throughout Pasadena,” said Triebitz. “I want to assure people that our changes haven’t lessened our commitment to support the arts in California, particularly in Pasadena.”
