As families prepare for the holiday season, Pasadena Humane is inviting animal lovers to brighten their celebrations with a new companion. The organization’s Home for the Holidays promotion waives adoption fees for large dogs weighing 40 pounds or more and cats one year and older.
The initiative arrives at a moment when many households are slowing their routines and gathering together—ideal circumstances for helping a new pet settle into their home.
The promotion is generously sponsored by Pet Care Foundation through a grant from the Georgia B. Ridder Foundation. Chewy is supplying expanded care packages for dog adoptees, including treats, a cozy bed, two toys, bowls, and a matching leash and collar set.
Every adoption from Pasadena Humane comes with comprehensive support: spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a complimentary wellness exam with a partner veterinarian. New adopters also receive helpful information on pet care.
Pasadena Humane, established in 1903, is a donor-supported nonprofit serving the Greater Los Angeles Area. In 2023, the organization helped more than 45,000 animals through adoptions, wildlife rehabilitation, lost and found services, and veterinary services. That year, the organization placed 100 percent of healthy and safe animals.
Chris Ramon, President and Chief Executive Officer since August 12, is a La Cañada native who began volunteering at Pasadena Humane as a high school student. Board Chair Eric Heer praised his appointment, noting Ramon’s “deep roots in the community, proven leadership, and passion for animal welfare make him the ideal choice to guide Pasadena Humane into its next chapter.”
Home for the Holidays will run from Dec. 14-31, 2025. Pasadena Humane, 361 S. Raymond Ave., Pasadena.
