San Marino hosts a multicultural evening at Lacy Park on Friday, Aug. 14. Westwind Productions performs Polynesian dancing from 5:30 to 6 p.m., followed by Adelaide Pilar from 6 to 8 p.m.
The city describes Pilar’s sound as blending global influences with soulful energy. The Westwind Productions program presents Polynesian dance traditions through hula and Tahitian drumming, showcasing the storytelling and rhythm of the culture.
The evening carries a second purpose. It also serves as San Marino’s National Night Out, bringing residents together with local public safety personnel. Members of the San Marino police and fire departments will be on hand with interactive displays. In past years the combined event has included food trucks and train rides alongside the concert.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic or buy from the on-site food trucks.
Lacy Park sits in the center of San Marino, with open lawn, a rose garden and walking loops. The main entrance is on Virginia Road.
