Descanso Gardens’ annual Halloween spectacle, Carved, casts a glowing spell over La Cañada Flintridge with a stunning display of illuminated jack-o’-lanterns, massive hand-carved gourds and vibrant light installations. From October 3 through 30, guests wander the winding Pumpkin Trail, discovering five towering wood spirits carved by Chainsaw Jenna alongside brand-new ghostly characters created just for this year.

Belgian artists Tom and Lien Dekyvere return with their eye-catching Rhizome light sculpture, inspired by the interwoven roots of society. Seasonal lighting transforms the beloved Descanso Railroad into a dazzling nighttime ride, while Harvest Acres tempts visitors with pumpkin-themed treats and cider.

Opening night kicks off October 3 at 6 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Members can join the Carved Fall Fest on October 18 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for crafts, face painting, a scavenger hunt and hay maze adventures.

Timed-entry tickets are available every 30 minutes nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Prices range from $20 to $38 for members and $27 to $45 for nonmembers.

Carved will run on Thursday, Oct. 30 at 6 p.m. Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge. For more information, call (818) 949-4200 or visit https://www.descansogardens.org/events-and-activities/carved/. Ticket prices: $10-$45.
