An immersive theatrical experience titled “Masq!” will run at Mountain View Mausoleum in Altadena Oct. 4 through Nov. 10, offering attendees a haunting encounter with a vengeful phantom seeking justice at a masquerade ball.

The production, described as “an original immersive experience” by its creators, promises to blend elements of interactive theater with the eerie atmosphere of a mausoleum and an abandoned church.

Audiences will be separated from their companions and navigate through the venue, potentially engaging in one-on-one interactions with performers portraying residents of La Serenissima during Carnevale.

The show’s creators, who previously produced the sold-out “Fangs!” last year, are billing “Masq!” as a unique way to “Get a jump on Halloween!” and urging early ticket purchases due to limited audience capacity per performance.

Complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be served before the show. Organizers recommend walking shoes and comfortable attire for the walking-intensive experience throughout the large performance space.

The production carries content warnings for themes of grief, loss, life, and death, as well as depictions of murder, verbal abuse, blood, and the presence of prop weapons including flintlock pistols and knives.

Organizers said the show will feature xenophobic characters and one scene with strobing lights, cautioning potential attendees about the intensity of the experience.

Tickets for “Masq!” are available through Eventbrite, https://www.eventbrite.com/e/masq-a-haunting-tickets-1007284082807

Tickets are non-refundable. Organizers encourage interested parties to reach out directly with any questions about the production or venue.

The show is produced by Devon Armstrong, Artistic Director of the Downtown Repertory Theater Company.
