Is there life on Mars? More importantly, is there pizza?

We are no closer to that answer quite yet, but to celebrate the recent landing of NASA’s Perseverance Rover on Mars, and all of  the rocket scientists at Jet Propulsion Laboratory and NASA field center in nearby La Cañada, California Pizza Kitchen has launched its own  limited-time, red, Mars-inspired pizza.

Only at the Pasadena location, of course.

”We are proud to congratulate JPL’s hard-working employees and celebrate their victory with this pizza,” said Brian Sullivan, executive head chef and senior vice president of culinary innovation at CPK, in a statement.

“We are always looking to create new dishes and this pizza in honor of our science heroes at JPL is a testament to our passion and commitment in creating culinary innovation and thanking our local community,” Sullivan added.

While the rover cruised the Red Planet last Thursday, JPL rocketheads have not yet programmed it to deliver pizza. We’re thinking its a supply and demand thing. If anyone could put in pizza in space, surely it would be JPL.

The pizza will be available for $5.00 from CPK’s Mobile Kitchen food truck outside of the Pasadena location only on March 8 and March 10 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Light your boosters now, crew members.

The slice of outer space costs $ 5 and is only orbiting the Pasadena Mobile CPK Kitchen from 11am to 2pm on March 8th and 10th.

California Pizza Kitchen is at  99 North Los Robles Ave, Pasadena, CA 91101. (626) 585-9020
