Jumpin Joz Band Performs at Edwin Mills by Equator

Published on Nov 22, 2022

The Jumpin Joz Band is back at Edwin Mills by Equator in Old Pasadena on Wednesday, Nov. 23, starting at 7 p.m.

The Jumpin Joz prides itself of being “the hottest band for swing music and dance in Southern California,” playing a combination of swing, jazz, blues, jump, early R&B, a little old Rock n Roll reminiscent of Count Basie, Louie Prima, Benny Goodman, Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Jordan, Gene Krupa, Oscar Peterson and Ray Charles.

“Our music is great for listening as well as swing dancing,” the band says on their website. “We have a growing following of dancers from young to old. We not only have a great, swingin’ sound but also an incredible show, and dress in a classy vintage style.”

The Jumpin Joz include Rick “Joz” Joswick, Barry Pohlmann, Mike Carr, Nick Morabito, Jerry Moore, Mike Uhler, Jim Jedeikin, Larry Williams, Ginger Berglund, Paul Young and Brian Atkinson.

Edwin Mills by Equator used to be Equator Coffee House at 22 Mills Place, until owner Teddy Bedjakian decided to rebrand the business into a restaurant and bar operation.
