Garfield Heights Neighborhood Association is hosting the virtual Garfield Heights 13th Home Tour on December 5 to 12, featuring five new houses and gardens for online participants who wish to discover the “secret sauce” that makes up Pasadena’s second oldest historic district.
Leading the virtual tour, author and humorist Sandra Tsing Loh and noted theatrical producer Frier McCollister will present a glorious Victorian manse and gardens in the American Colonial Revival style, reflecting the eclectic interests of its owners; a joyful Arts and Crafts residence featuring a delightful array of vintage furnishings and objects; and a delightful airplane bungalow restored by its owners with a skillfully renovated and colorful kitchen.
The tour also features a sweet Craftsman cottage with a tasteful remodel that brings the kitchen into the center of the home and a thoughtfully designed garden, and an elegant Foursquare home featuring a bocce ball court and a hidden surprise.
Each home included in the tour highlights the ingredients in Garfield Heights’ secret sauce: the celebration of architecture, history, food, gardens and camaraderie that live at the heart of this historic district.
“You’ll not only experience unique architecture, but you’ll meet some of the people and hear some of the stories that make Garfield Heights a remarkable neighborhood,” an announcement by the Garfield Heights Neighborhood Association said. “You’ll see the connections between gardens, friendship and food that is part of Garfield Heights’ DNA.”
In addition to the virtual tour, ticket holders will receive a downloadable tour booklet with detailed information about the homes featured on the tour.
Tickets at $25 each are now on sale through December 11. An early-bird discount applies to tickets purchased before October 31.
