Wong will engage the audience with a reading from her book, share personal reflections, and participate in a Q&A session. Her work consistently explores critical themes such as community care, collective power, and the enduring legacy of Asian American activism. This event provides a rare opportunity to connect directly with an artist whose diverse body of work spans theatre, mutual-aid practice, and cultural commentary, fostering a dialogue around the contemporary meaning of activism.
The event will also feature a distinguished lineup of guests, including co-authors Anna Michelle Wang, Theodore Chao, and Jenessa Joffe. Special guest Mia Yamamoto, a featured “Auntie Hero” in the book, will grace the stage with stories and a song, adding another layer of depth to the discussion. Additionally, Young Rebels Emi Hope Sperber and Liberty Chao will contribute by reading excerpts from the book, highlighting the intergenerational impact of Wong’s message.
