The act of creating is as much about revealing as it is about concealing. At ArtCenter College of Design’s South Campus, a new exhibition titled Reveal: Uncovering Layers of Creativity – ArtCenter Graduate Studies Exhibition invites audiences to peer beneath the surface, exposing the intricate processes, hidden narratives, and deeper meanings embedded in artistic practice.

Opening Thursday, February 20, 2025, and running through Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Reveal is the institution’s first-ever graduate studies exhibition, The exhibition features work from nine graduate students to challenge conventional ways of seeing. Through an array of works that span multiple disciplines, the exhibition proposes that design is more than the sum of its parts—it is a dynamic interplay of visible and invisible forces.

Visitors are invited to join the graduate students at a welcome reception on opening night from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to hear firsthand about their creative methodologies. The exhibition, housed in the Mullin Transportation Design Center at ArtCenter College of Design’s South Campus, 2nd floor Hover Space, reflects ArtCenter’s long-standing emphasis on both innovation and conceptual depth.

The exhibition emphasizes the idea that art and design are not just about the final product but also about what lies beneath. By foregrounding process over product, Reveal underscores the significance of exploration, questioning, and discovery in contemporary creative practice.

Set against the backdrop of ArtCenter’s storied design legacy, this exhibition is a testament to the institution’s commitment to pushing artistic boundaries. The featured works demand more than passive observation—they invite an active excavation of meaning, rewarding audiences who look beyond what initially meets the eye.
