Learn More: Developing Smart Cities with Community and Digital Technology

Published on Aug 3, 2022

Friday Morning Coffee Meetup, Innovate Pasadena’s weekly speaker series, features entrepreneur, business operator and product builder Francis Pollara this Friday, Aug. 5, 8:30 to 10 a.m.

Pollara will lead a discussion on “Developing Smart Cities with Community and Digital Technology” in person at FoundrSpace, located at 87 N. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena.

“Mobility is the through-line that allows people to connect and participate in our communities and society at large,” says a summary of this Friday’s subject. “The way we move has a far deeper impact on our everyday lives than most people recognize. Mobility innovation is a social negotiation of space, how people get from one place to another, and what modes they use to get to their destinations.”

Pollara currently is a Board Member and Director of Strategy and Development at Urban Movement Labs, a first-of-its-kind community-based nonprofit collaboration that brings together government, businesses, and the community to build equitable and sustainable transportation tech solutions in real urban conditions.

He is the founder of Luma Launch in 2015, a uniquely positioned $20 million-dollar venture fund backed by Luma, one of the world’s most successful independent creative studios. He is also the Co-Founder of TheFutureParty, a community-based media platform and daily email newsletter covering the latest in business, entertainment, and culture.

Friday’s meetup will also be on Zoom. To join the Zoom, visit https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89664068984?pwd=MXFGU0JuYXdHTU83aXFrbDlGSDBldz09 and register ahead of time.

At FoundrSpace, doors open at 8 a.m. for informal networking. The presentation begins at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by a Q & A moderated by Christy Conner. Informal networking and meet-the-speaker will continue up to 10 a.m.
