The event will be held Friday, February 20 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the South Pasadena Public Library, 1100 Oxley Street in South Pasadena, according to the library’s event calendar at southpasadenaca.gov/events-directory. According to the library’s program guidelines, admission is free, and each child must be accompanied by an adult. Families can expect unstructured building time rather than a formal lesson, giving kids a chance to experiment, collaborate and play at their own pace, according to the library’s program description.
“LEGO Free Play at the Library! Drop in and let your imagination build big! Create, stack, and play with LEGO bricks—no rules, just fun,” according to the library’s promotional materials. According to the library’s program description, toddlers can stick with Duplos while older children build more elaborate creations, all within the comfortable setting of the neighborhood library.
The program is supported by the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, a volunteer group that funds children’s activities and other library services throughout the year. According to the Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library, their donations and fundraising support community programs and children’s activities at the library, which the library describes as helping to keep events like LEGO Free Play open to all families at no cost.
Even for a single afternoon, the library’s children’s area becomes a place where blocks, imagination and community come together.
LEGO Free Play will run on Friday, February 20 at 3 to 5 p.m. South Pasadena Public Library, 1115 El Centro Street, 91030. For more information, call (626) 403-7330 or visit https://www.southpasadenaca.gov/Events-Directory/LEGO%C2%AE-Free-Play.
