Kidspace Children’s Museum in Pasadena will host LEGO Monster Build on Saturday, Oct. 3, and Sunday, Oct. 4, a two-day Halloween building program presented with LEGOLAND California.

The program is included with museum admission and is free for members. It is part of the museum’s Halloween season and gives visitors a chance to meet a different professional builder each day.

Visitors can look at a miniature LEGO model of Brick or Treat Street, a Halloween attraction at LEGOLAND California. They can then build monsters, goblins and other creatures of their own, along with the worlds those creatures live in, the museum said.

José De Paz, a LEGOLAND Master Model Builder, is scheduled to appear Saturday, Oct. 3. Allyson Gail, whom the museum describes as a professional LEGO builder and a former contestant on the television competition “LEGO Masters,” is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 4. Gail, who is based in Los Angeles, competed in the show’s fourth season on Fox, KTLA reported in 2023.

Families who attend will be entered for a chance to win tickets for four to the Halloween season at LEGOLAND California, the museum said.

Brick or Treat Street is new this year at the theme park in Carlsbad. It is a trick-or-treat attraction with six life-sized LEGO monster homes inspired by LEGO Minifigures, LEGOLAND said. The park’s Brick or Treat event is scheduled on 12 dates from Sept. 19 through Nov. 1, including both days of the Pasadena program.

General admission is $17 for adults and for children 1 and older, and $15 for visitors 62 and older. Infants under 1 and members enter free. The museum does not accept cash.

Kidspace is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Its indoor galleries have capacity limits and are open on a first-come, first-served basis. Free parking is available in Rose Bowl Lot I, and the museum can also be reached on Metro and Pasadena Transit.

The museum and the theme park also worked together earlier this year, when Kidspace hosted LEGOLAND Junior Galaxy Explorers, a spacecraft-building program, on Jan. 30 and 31.

The museum’s other Halloween programming continues daily through Saturday, Oct. 31, including costume parades at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., a potion-mixing Witch’s Kitchen, an Adopt-a-Monster workshop and a pumpkin bowling alley.
