Join the Electric Dusk Drive In and Secret Movie Club for a night time showing of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” on Sunday, Nov. 29, at the Glendale Sears Parking Lot, 211 W. California Ave., Glendale.

Participants will have the opportunity to watch this Christmas classic from the comfort of their car while practicing COVID-19 precautions.

“The Nightmare Before Christmas” is a stop-motion animated musical dark fantasy film directed by Henry Selick and produced and conceived by Tim Burton in 1993. It tells the story of Jack Skellington, the King of “Halloween Town,” who stumbles through a portal to “Christmas Town” and becomes obsessed with celebrating the holiday.

Danny Elfman wrote the songs and score, and provided the singing voice of Jack. The principal voice cast also includes Chris Sarandon, Catherine O’Hara, William Hickey, Ken Page, Paul Reubens, Glenn Shadix, and Ed Ivory.

The film met with both critical and financial success, grossing $90 million since its initial release and garnering a cult following. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects, a first for an animated film.

The film has since been reissued by Walt Disney Pictures, and was re-released annually in Disney Digital 3D from 2006 until 2009, making it the first stop-motion animated feature to be entirely converted to 3D.

Advanced tickets to the drive-in movie are $23. Each ticket includes a $15 car fee and the first ticket at $8 per person. You can purchase an additional $8 per person ticket for however many other people after the first person will be in the car. The organizer will be doing a count at the gate.

Concessions and posters are available on the Eventbrite link. You can pick up your concessions and posters at the concessions table in the parking lot once you’ve parked.

Tickets on the day of the showing will be $20 per car plus $8 per ticket for a single screening.
