Certainly no one needs to explain to any of us any more the importance of clean air in our homes and offices, be they in the same place or not.

One way to assure that is with an air purifier. When we researched these—and there are many out there—one stood out after perusing reviews and observations.

When our Alen BreatheSmart 75i True HEPA purifier arrived, truth be told, it sat boxed in the home office for a few days. No problem, of course, but what were we thinking?

Once we opened it, plugged it in and set it to “auto,” a feeling of almost imperceptible calm and security came over us. Something Alen calls “pink noise” takes over, intensifying the feeling of someone watching the skies for us.

Alen’s HEPA (H13) purifier uses medical-grade air filters which capture up to 99.99% of harmful particles, as small as 0.1 microns. That includes mold and who knows what other harmful airborne particles.

We set the purifier up in a bedroom of a large apartment to do its thing, but according to the literature, the 75i is ideal for large and open-concept spaces up to 1,300 square feet, like living rooms, apartments, offices, kitchens, and basements, and any indoor space that could use some cleaner air.

The 75i is particularly easy to use. You can literally plug it in, turn it on, and set it for auto. It can run 24/7 for a year until you need a new filter.  It automatically senses the air in the room and rates particle levels in clear LED colors, and then adjusts fan speed accordingly. At the highest setting, it will clear all the air in the room in 30 minutes, when set to “high.”

It’s also particularly stylish-looking, so your perfect bedroom doesn’t have to look like a hospital ward or a basement.
