Dance Party [Lineage Performing Arts]

On September 20, the Lineage Performing Arts Center marked 26 years of inspiring the community with a lively evening of celebration at its “Lineage Magic” gala. The event blended fine dining, surprise performances, and a joyful spirit that carried through to the signature dance party that brought the night to a close.
What set the evening apart was the way Lineage performers moved seamlessly between their artistry and hospitality. Guests were not only served by the company members but also delighted by their impromptu songs and musical numbers. Highlights included selections from the current production of Rent, a preview of the site-specific show planned for the Gamble House, and crowd-pleasing excerpts from Little Shop of Horrors, which the company will premiere in May.
The evening also featured a range of moving performances beyond the company’s core ensemble. The Muir Mystics, led by Angie Vaughn, brought powerful energy to the stage, while the Dance for Joy program offered a deeply moving reminder of Lineage’s community mission. Dance for Joy provides free arts classes for individuals living with neurological challenges, embodying the organization’s commitment to accessibility and healing through the arts.
Throughout the night, guests were not only entertained but also inspired to support the next chapter of Lineage’s work. As the company enters its 27th season, the gala underscored both its creative vitality and the strong community that surrounds it.
