Celebrate! Quilts on the Wall

FEBRUARY 24, 2024 - MAY 12, 2024 in the North Gallery
Showcasing an outstanding and diverse collection of fine art quilts by members of the Southern California group of textile artists, Quilts on the Wall. The individual works were chosen to illustrate that we all have something to celebrate, be it big or small, significant to others or only to us.

An exhibition that is part origin story, part retrospective, and a tribute to the early, privately amassed predecessors of modern-day museums. Featuring a wide variety of singular objects from the Museum’s collections.

SPECIAL EVENT

March 7, 2024 | 7PM
Join PMH Project Archivist, Iris Shih, for a show-and-tell presentation on the Museum’s collections devoted to the famed American Arts and Crafts tilemaker, Ernest Allen Batchelder (1875/6-1957).

Fényes Mansion Tour

With its original furnishings and art collection, the Fényes Mansion is an elegant and charming cultural landmark that majestically stands on Pasadena's historic Millionaire's row.

We maintain the area’s largest and most comprehensive collection of documents and artifacts related to the history of Pasadena and the west San Gabriel valley.

FROZEN FRAMES

Frozen Frames: Preserving Pasadena’s Visual Legacy

ONGOING VIRTUAL EXHIBITION
An exhibit series in four parts, bringing artistically and historically compelling images out of the deep freeze and into public view. The photographs come from among the more than 200,000 at-risk negatives that are now cryogenically preserved as part of the Museum’s Great History Freeze project of 2015.

Public programming has always been at the core of the Museum’s mission and outreach. Tours, lectures, and presentations are designed to offer a wide selection of engaging, history-based, age-appropriate content and collective experiences to all sectors of our large and diverse community.

Museums of the Arroyo (MOTA) Day

Museums of the Arroyo (MOTA) Day

Pasadena Museum of History - 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm

MOTA Day offers FREE admission and activities at five museums located along the celebrated Arroyo Seco. In addition to PMH, visit the Gamble House, Heritage Square Museum, Los Angeles Police Museum, and Lummis Home & Garden.

Research Library & Archives

The Pasadena Museum of History maintains the area’s largest and most comprehensive collection of documents and artifacts related to the history of Pasadena and the west San Gabriel valley. The ever-expanding collection spans the years 1834 to the present and contains well over 1,000,000 historic photographs, rare books, manuscripts, maps, architectural records, and more.
