Every month, curious children and their families gather at Descanso Gardens to “explore, play and create” in a world designed just for early learners.

The Little Explorers program invites families with children ages two to five to dive into hands-on arts, crafts and nature activities, fostering creativity and a love for the outdoors.

Families are greeted with ever-changing projects and activities. “Specific projects and activities vary, come see what we’re up to this time!” the Gardens encourage.

Each session is uniquely crafted, ensuring returning families experience something new.

There is no additional fee for Little Explorers beyond standard garden admission.

Descanso Gardens, a 150-acre botanical oasis operated by the nonprofit Descanso Gardens Foundation, offers free parking and welcomes members one hour early at 8 a.m.

The Little Explorers program spotlights the garden’s mission to inspire young minds and nurture a lifelong relationship with nature—one morning adventure at a time.

Little Explorers will run on Friday, December 5 at 9:30-11:30 a.m. Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, La Cañada Flintridge.
