When job displacement struck during the pandemic, many workers turned to their hands for salvation—creating art, crafts, and small businesses born from necessity.
This weekend, over 180 of these resilient makers will showcase their post-pandemic renaissance at the 17th Annual Pasadena ARTWalk.
The free festival transforms Green Street between Los Robles and El Molino Avenue in Playhouse Village into a marketplace celebrating locally handcrafted goods on Saturday and Sunday, September 20-21, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“The mission of Jackalope Arts is to create a shopping experience with the highest quality, locally handcrafted goods. We strive to support local artisans who devote their lives to their creations,” according to the nonprofit organization’s website.
The event operates rain-or-shine, is handicap accessible, and welcomes leashed pets. Live music will perform at Oakland and Green Street both days, featuring artists including Spectra, Vibes & Audacity, Ricky England, and Rusty Perez.
Family activities include slime-making, face painting, tarot readings, weaving demonstrations, and DIY flower bouquets.
“Jackalope Arts offers an opportunity for the community to meet the makers and experience the heart of Pasadena’s creative spirit,” the organization states.
Pasadena ARTWalk – Jackalope Indie Artisan Fair will run on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 20-21 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. 561 E Green Street between Los Robles and El Molino avenues, Playhouse Village, in Pasadena.
