Author Mary Lea Carroll will sign copies of her memoir “Across the Street, Around the Corner…A Road Home” at Webster’s Community Pharmacy in Altadena on Tuesday, February 10, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The free event will feature tea, sweets, and complimentary gift wrapping for book purchases.

Carroll’s memoir has been described as “a love letter to Altadena and Pasadena” that “weaves the magic of her Altadena childhood into her present Pasadena neighborhood.” The book explores themes of community, memory, and place through the lens of her 1960s Altadena childhood and her current Pasadena neighborhood.

A lifelong Pasadena-area resident, Carroll is also the author of “Saint Everywhere: Travels in Search of the Lady Saints.”

The signing will take place at Webster’s Community Pharmacy, located at 2333 Lake Ave. in Altadena. The nearly century-old institution, which has served the community for over 98 years, relocated to its current location and held its official grand opening and ribbon cutting on June 22, 2024. The pharmacy is co-owned by Meredith and Michael Miller.
