Diane Lang from Eaton Canyon Nature Center presents “Get to Know Your Neighbors” on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The program introduces children to local animal neighbors and explores connections between human and animal habitats.
“Diane Lang from Eaton Canyon Nature Center will introduce young learners to some of the fascinating animal neighbors that share our environment,” according to the museum’s promotional materials. “Participants will explore where these animals live and discover surprising similarities between humans and wildlife.”
Lang brings extensive experience in wildlife education, having worked for over a decade as a docent at Lindsay Wildlife Museum in Walnut Creek, presenting public programs about wild animals. She also served as a volunteer educator at Sulphur Creek Nature Center in Hayward and previously worked in the publications department at Caltech.
The author of several children’s picture books including “Vulture Verses: Love Poems for the Unloved” and “Fur, Feather, Fin—All of Us Are Kin,” Lang holds a B.A. from Cal State Los Angeles.
The program is free with regular museum admission. Southern California Children’s Museum, founded in 2013 by community parents, is located at 459 East Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. The program is supported by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture.
