Published on Apr 11, 2025

.Pasadena’s iconic Vroman’s Bookstore will host acclaimed children’s author Ann Whitford Paul for a special springtime event featuring her latest work, “If Animals Celebrated Easter.” The book discussion will take place on Saturday, April 12, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the bookstore’s Colorado Boulevard location.

The new picture book continues Paul’s beloved “If Animals Kissed Goodnight” series, which imaginatively portrays animals engaging in human activities. In this Easter-themed addition, farm animals celebrate the spring holiday in their own unique ways – from colts weaving baskets of hay to calves decorating spotted eggs, and lambs leading festive parades.

Featuring the series’ signature playful rhymes and charming illustrations, “If Animals Celebrated Easter” aims to delight young readers with its creative portrayal of animal celebrations. The publisher describes it as “a must-have for any nursery” and suggests it makes a perfect Easter basket gift.

The book joins eight other titles in the popular series, including “If Animals Kissed Good Night,” “If Animals Said I Love You,” and “If Animals Celebrated Christmas,” among others.

An accomplished author with a rich and varied background, Ann Whitford Paul has made significant contributions to the world of children’s literature. Paul pursued a robust academic journey, earning her BA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 1963 and a MSW with honors from Columbia University School of Social Work in 1965.

Later, she transitioned to a successful writing career, crafting stories that captivate young minds. She is an active member of esteemed organizations like the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and the Southern California Council on Literature for Children and Young People.
