Local Church Hosts Wednesday Blood Drive

Published on Dec 14, 2021

First United Methodist Church (FUMC) in Pasadena will conduct a blood drive organized by the Red Cross on Wednesday, December 15, in the FUMC Fellowship Hall, at 500 E. Colorado Blvd.

Local medical officials said the current blood supply in the Pasadena area is critically low.

“We’re currently experiencing a critical shortage of O blood types. That’s O positive and O negative, which is the universal blood type,” a spokesperson for the Huntington Hospital Blood Donor Center told Pasadena Now in an interview.

All blood types are needed, officials said.

Blood donors who have appointments with the Red Cross can come in to the FUMC Fellowship Hall from 12 to 6 p.m.

You too can help by donating blood. To schedule an appointment, visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter the sponsor code: FUMCPASADENA. That way they’ll know you’re helping through the First United Methodist Church Pasadena.
