Expecting and new parents in the San Gabriel Valley will soon have a unique opportunity to connect with trusted experts, brands, and local resources at an upcoming community-focused Baby Expo hosted by The Family Room. Designed to support families during pregnancy and early parenthood, the event takes place March 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the historic Shakespeare Club in Pasadena.
The curated expo will bring together a hand-selected group of local businesses, family-centered brands, and community providers, alongside valuable insight from local experts. The goal is to create a welcoming, approachable environment where parents can access reliable information and feel genuinely supported during a time that can often feel overwhelming.
“Parents, especially during pregnancy and the early postpartum period, find themselves navigating an influx of confusing and contradictory information, from well-meaning family members and friends, to social media and other sources of information,” said Karen Stoteraux, founder of The Family Room. “This event is about offering a more intentional experience—connecting families with professionals and brands we trust, in a space that feels warm and community-driven.”
Attendees can explore a wide range of parenting resources, from baby gear specialists, childcare providers, and lactation consultants to local photographers and other family-focused services. The expo will also feature expert talks and panel discussions on important topics such as perinatal mental health and infant sleep, giving parents access to expert guidance in an accessible setting.
Hands-on help is another highlight of the event. Families can participate in babywearing demonstrations and receive car seat safety checks from a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. A Donuts with Doulas mixer gives families an opportunity to learn more about how birth and postpartum doulas support families, as well as meet some local ones, too. Adding an element of fun, a “Make Your Own Sample Box” station and a variety of raffle giveaways—including a Nuna Cudl carrier, Inglesina travel stroller and a Spectra breast pump are also planned, while the Expo Eats section will showcase food from local businesses.
The Baby Expo reflects The Family Room’s broader mission to create spaces where parents feel seen, informed, and connected. Founded in 2014, The Family Room has supported thousands of families from pregnancy to the preschool years with research-based education and community programming. With two locations serving the Pasadena and Studio City areas, The Family Room offers prenatal classes, parent & me groups, toddler classes, yoga, dad groups, music, feeding support groups, and more.
The event is open to expecting parents, new parents, and caregivers. Tickets are available online for $30 per person, $40 per couple, or $70 for VIP admission.
