Los Angeles Children’s Chorus Announces Dazzling Gala at The Huntington Library

Published on Feb 15, 2023

The Pasadena-based Los Angeles Children’s Chorus is set to host their highly anticipated 2023 Spring Gala, “An Evening at The Huntington,” on Thursday, March 23rd. This event promises to be a memorable evening filled with cocktails, performances, and live auctions at the beautiful Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens in San Marino.

The event aims to celebrate the Associate Artistic Director of the LACC, Mandy Brigham, and raise funds for the organization’s music education programs and need-based scholarship fund. The event will be hosted by the award-winning public radio show, “Marketplace,” host, Kai Ryssdal.

Guests will be treated to a beautiful sunset cocktail hour in the Rose Hills Foundation Garden Court before proceeding to Haaga Hall for the multi-course meal, performances, and live auction.

The LACC has gathered the brightest stars of their family for this event, including Mandy Brigham, Artistic Director Fernando Malvar-Ruiz, and Young Men’s Ensemble Director Dr. Steven Kronauer, all of whom will lead the GRAMMY-Award winning choristers in performances. Additionally, the event will feature comedian Roger Lundblade as the auctioneer.

Individual tickets for the event are priced at $375, with tables available at $10,000, $6,000, and $3,000. The event is limited, and guests are encouraged to purchase tickets or sponsor a table as soon as possible. All proceeds will support LACC’s music education programs and need-based scholarship fund.

The GRAMMY Award-winning Los Angeles Children’s Chorus has provided choral music training to thousands of local children and teenagers between the ages of 6-18 since its inception in 1986.

The program has grown to include seven progressively experienced choirs, a program of First Experiences in Singing classes, and a First Experiences in Choral Singing Ensemble. LACC’s comprehensive program addresses all learning styles and levels of experience through a sequential music literacy curriculum based on the Kodály concept, in which choristers master a challenging, multi-lingual repertoire of fine choral music in the bel canto style. Choristers also acquire a solid education in music theory and receive individual vocal coaching.

The 2023 Spring Gala promises to be a night to remember, as guests come together to support LACC’s music education programs and celebrate the talented Mandy Brigham’s contribution to the organization. With the brightest stars of the LACC family set to perform, and a beautiful venue, guests will be treated to a magical evening of music, cocktails, and good company.
