Romance readers in Altadena will have a new place to swoon over their favorite genre when the Altadena Library District launches its “Heartthrob Hangout Book Club” next month.

The library’s newest book club, dedicated exclusively to romance novels, will hold its first meeting Thursday, October 9 at 4:30 p.m. in the Main Library Small Meeting Room.

The free monthly discussion group will kick off with “He’s to Die For” by Erin Dunn.

The specialized book club reflects growing recognition of romance as a legitimate literary genre worthy of serious discussion, moving beyond the stigma that has long surrounded romance reading.

The Altadena Library District sponsors the new monthly program, which aims to create a welcoming space for romance enthusiasts to gather and discuss their favorite titles in a supportive community setting.
